When thinking of Canadian exports, most individuals always go back to the classic maple syrup, Hockey gear, or even oil, but Canada goes far beyond what many have imagined. Canada has had countless innovations which most wouldn’t have even guessed were from here. With that being said, let’s dive into 10 unique items which were produced in Canada!

 


Wasabi

Yes, this may not be the first thing which comes to mind when thinking of items that are produced in Canada, but it’s true! Real wasabi, not that fake green paste, is grown and produced in British Columbia!

 

 


Kiwi

Although Kiwi’s are considered to mainly be grown in New Zealand, Hardy Kiwi is grown in parts of Ontario and British Columbia! Along with they unique shape, they present a nice treat to have anytime of the day!

 

 


Lentils

Canada is actually one of the largest producers of lentils in the world. They produce millions of tons a year, with Saskatchewan being the top producers. They then export these goods to other countries such as India and Turkey!

 

 


Apples

Apples, we all love them as they taste delicious! Being nature’s candy, Canada contributes to its production in Ontario, British Columbia, and  Quebec! Some of the major types include Gala, Honey crisp, Ambrosia, and even Macintosh!
