Kiss the Ground

(Narrated by Woody Harrelson)

This film discusses the “ultimate persuasive and optimistic” plan to counter the climate crisis. The film creates a case on the healing power of the soil and argues that its capacity to manage carbon could be the solution to reversing the horrific effects of climate change. Woody narrates the examination of how tilling and the “use of pesticides have led to soil erosion and then traces the damage done to our ecology, health and climate”. The filmmakers find a solution in regenerative farming and ethical practice designed to restore degraded lands and facilitate carbon drawdown. As they travel the world, the directors of this film showcase the benefits and beauty of soil health. The film also features well-known individuals who support climate action such as Jason Mraz, Patricia Arquette, and Ian Somerhalder. These activists and many others in the short film advocate for climate and environmental solutions. This film will leave you with a new perspective on changing our world for the better.

To conclude, these films are a great demonstration of the beautiful scenery and views nature has to offer, as well as the destruction being done to it. Both films can be watched by anyone regardless if you have a passion for environmental science or not; it is always good to learn something new.
