Hey readers! I’m sure you know what climate change is and its effects on Mother Earth. Climate change has become a consecutive problem for these current generations and will impact the lives of future ones. We can all make a difference, big or small, with a bunch of changes in our present-day ways. You may not constantly be thinking about how your actions may be contributing to this problem, but it’s time we start that habit. I hope you find at least one of these techniques to be useful and encourage you to use it in your life. I’ll be giving you some useful tips and ideas on how you can incorporate these 5 environmental decisions into your daily lives.

PLANT SOME TREES-  The simple act of planting trees can help save our planet. Trees produce pure oxygen (what we need for energy production in our bodies from carbon dioxide (what we breathe out) which recycles and removes it from the atmosphere. When that field is filled with carbon dioxide, it causes the Sun’s light to ricochet back and forth that makes it expand and create more heat than required, also known as the greenhouse effect (what is the greenhouse effect?). This action causes global warming, an aspect of climate change. Once trees are cut down, the carbon dioxide is released back into the air. Planting more trees adds an effective band-aid to heal the damage made. ‎ ‎

REDUCE WATER WASTE- We use water everyday of our lives and a lot of it gets wasted, mostly down the drain. Not only are you losing money, but it exhausts the amount of water left for others! If you wash your rice before cooking, you can save the water for your plants. Same with a drippy tap in your faucet or bathtub faucet, leave a bucket overnight and it’ll collect water for your plants. Those are just a couple of routes you can take with this method. ‎ ‎ ‎

CREATE A GARDEN- Who doesn’t love the aesthetic of a lovely little garden in your backyard or even in your house? If you like carrots, lettuce, tomatoes or other nutrients,  you can grow them if you can plant some seeds for your own pleasure. It’ll be fun to see the vegetables grow and eat them once fully grown. If you don’t want to grow food, maybe you can establish a bouquet of different flowers or trees. Better yet, grow a fruit tree that you can pick at seasonally! You’re helping the environment while also making your home more colourful and fabricating a more healthy diet. ‎ ‎

USE RENEWABLE ENERGY- For the past few decades, we’ve been using or overusing energy that cannot be used over and over. I’m sure you’ve seen a wind turbine or a solar power panel on a house or near an industrial building, they’re known as renewable energy sources. It’s something you should think about investing in for your home if you’d like to use nature as a way of saving it! For wind turbines, they use the force of wind to collect energy from its movement. You can use the giant ones that are shared with your city or you can order a single household wind turbine. It’s like a giant pinwheel… that saves the planet. ‎ ‎

OUR FOOD- Not only should we be thinking about our materialistic actions, we should also think about what we buy and consume, our food. Of course, we should be eating more healthy- vegetables, fruits, grains and meat. However, in order to be more environmental about it, you should be buying from local markets. They’re fresher, closer and you’re investing into the local economy. Remember that if you’re buying food, you should use all of it (don’t waste any food: how to stop food waste). You should also think about eating less meat since it improves your health and eliminates more resource-intensive products. ‎ ‎ ‎ From these 5 simple ways to prevent climate change, you can change the outcome of our Earth and its residents (us). There are so many other methods and routes you can take to invest into helping this green planet. I suggest that you do further research to fully understand how helpful you’ll be. You should also find more ways to be more ‘green’ and valuable to the process of disqualifying climate change. I hope that you’re able to include these into your daily routines.   P.S. Check out the climate change tab! press the ‘Youth Portal’ tab at the top -> and check out the ‘Climate Change’ page or you can press this hyperlink straight to the ‘Climate Change’ tab. It’ll give you lots of information you’d need to learn. ‎ ‎
