What Do You Bring to the Table?

FOOD LEADER Interview Series

Join us as youth leaders explore careers in food systems through a series of interviews with Canadian agri-food workers.

When you think of jobs available in our food systems, what comes to mind?

If you’re like most people, you might immediately think about farmers, or truck drivers, or chefs. You’re less likely to consider career paths such as food science, agronomy, or food policy.

There are hundreds of potential career pathways available in our food systems, providing 1 out of every 8 jobs to Canadians. Many of them require advanced skills and education, and many of them are growing in demand.

This youth-driven interview series will attempt to highlight some of the many, many food paths to be taken, with a focus on careers in sustainability and offering a space for young people to learn about and from some amazing people working to create better food systems in our country.

Are you a youth aged 14-19 in Ontario, and eager to develop your leadership and communications skills while learning about agri-food careers alongside your peers?

Are you a professional working in Canadian agri-food? Are you interested in connecting with a high school aged youth to share about your career path through a video interview during summer 2025?
