Volunteer with us!
You can make a difference in the community and have long-lasting impact on our program by becoming a volunteer. It means the world to us, those we serve, and to the wider community.
Many of our activities and events are made possible by volunteers! Being a small team of only a few part time staff members for most of the year, we simply cannot do it all without additional hands, minds, and hearts.
This is a great opportunity to learn new skills, meet others, and give back to a grassroots organization. Whether you love gardening or want to pick up on a new hobby or skill, we welcome volunteers of all age groups and expertise! After all, all professionals were once beginners too! Note: Not all of the following positions are available at all times, as seasonality plays a large role in what we do. COVID-19 may also have an impact on what positions are currently available.
Garden Maintenance Assistant
A garden simply cannot flourish without maintenance and that is where we need your help! If you enjoy working outdoors, getting your hands dirty, and being surrounded by beautiful plants, you may be who we’re looking for. We have a number of garden spaces throughout Waterloo Region each year, most being school gardens on bus routes.
Photographer/Videographer
Do you have a creative eye for capturing the best moments at the perfect angles? We are looking for photographers/videographers to join us at our garden maintenance days and spring/summer events to take photos and videos to be posted on our social media, newsletter, and website! No professional experience or special equipment necessary.
Delivery Driver
Do you have a vehicle and the ability to drive throughout Waterloo Region? We are looking for local individuals willing to help us from time to time with shuttling produce and prizes to various spots throughout the region.
Web Developer
Our website is always a work in progress! If you have experience with web development, we would appreciate your assistance on an ongoing or task-specific basis. Please note that our website uses WordPress’ Divi theme.
