Indoor Growing

Indoor seed starting for elevated learning and food production.

In 2025, 18 schools across Waterloo Region were awarded indoor seed starting kits, to elevate learning and food production on school grounds and within school communities. An additional 7 schools were awarded hydroponic systems (details below).

Indoor, hydroponic systems for year-round classroom growing.

We have provided select schools with indoor hydroponic systems for year-round food production.

In 2019 and 2020, a total of seven schools received Tower Gardens and in 2022, three schools received NutriTowers.

Then, in March 2025, an additional seven schools were awarded indoor hydroponic systems from NuLeaf Farms. Updates and success stories will be shared as the systems are put to use!
