Do you have leftover seeds from your seed swap or seed library?

We can help circulate them to our representatives who will put them to good use at other community seed swaps. Every week during the winter, we mail books and table-top materials to Seedy Saturdays and Seedy Sundays all across the country, so we can easily include your leftover seeds in our packages. Our volunteers will make sure the seeds get to their local seed swap tables and seed libraries, so you'll know that they won't go to waste.

Mail your leftover seeds to:

We are excited to offer free seeds to Winnipeg gardeners in 2021!

The Winnipeg Seedy Saturday Committee strongly believes in the power of collecting and distributing free seeds in these unprecedented times so our our format has changed to be able to do this safely using the current COVID guidelines.

To do this we have split the event into 3 separate phases:

Phase 1 – Collection from donors (Monday, January 25th – Thursday, February 11th)
Take the individual packets and bulk seeds you would normally donate at Seedy Saturday and drop them off in marked bins around the city

Phase 2 – Order your seeds (Monday, February 15th – Thursday, February 25th)
Order up to 10 packets of free seeds from the Gardens Manitoba Website.

Phase 3 – Distribution of ordered seeds (Saturday, February 27th)

HELP ALL OF THE OPEN-POLLINATED SEEDS IN YOUR CARE FIND NEW HOMES: We will have a spreadsheet for each Seedy Saturday that will allow you to describe which open-pollinated seeds you have to share along with your contact information so that everyone can figure out how to make their own socially distanced exchange / porch pickups happen safely!
