It's hard to believe that we've been doing this for 32 years, because every time we put together our Member Seed Directory it seems like a fresh new adventure. Whether you are a long-time seed saver or a beginner, we invite you to list any seeds that you would like to share in our 2019 Member Seed Directory.
The deadline for your seed offers is December 20, 2018. See the article below for instructions on how to make sure your saved seeds are included!

Whether you are a long-time seed saver or a beginner, we invite you to list any seeds that you would like to share in our 2019 Member Seed Directory. Members will contact you directly to request your seeds, and they pay your costs with (usually) stamps, Canadian Tire money, or other kinds of payments that you choose.
The deadline for your seed offers is December 20, 2018.
Update on Neonic Pesticides
It's time for an update about neonicotinoid pesticides. Known as neonics for short, these insect-killing chemicals are the most widely used pesticides globally. They are used for turf on golf courses, on food and energy crops, and even in pet flea control applications. In the past, we have talked about the effects that neonics have had on pollinators and recently we noted that a third of Canadian bees died over the past winter.
Seed Balls
When we need a quick gardening activity for kids that will work rain or shine, at any time of year, that's fun and practical, easy and good for all ages, we make Seed Balls. Seed balls have been around for a long time in one form or another, and they turn out to be one of the best ways to distribute and plant wildflower seeds to make gardens more pollinator friendly. Here's how they work.
