As I\u2019ve grown up, I\u2019ve always considered Winter to be my favourite season. In appreciation of the coming winter\u2026\u2026.. I\u2019ve decided to write a <\/span>poem<\/span><\/i>. I don\u2019t have much experience writing poems, however, so who knows how this will go.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Enjoy!<\/span><\/p>\n

Bugs,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Gone.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Flying bugs,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Gone too.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Naked, vulnerable trees,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Beautiful.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Clouds,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Mix to make one cloud,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Big, big cloud.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Then came the first pretty snowflake,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Falling from the heavens,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 On your palm,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Quickly dissolving,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Then joined by a friend,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 And another,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Until an army falls,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 All different directions,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 All unique<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Fashionable flurries, few festivities like it.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Knowing there\u2019s always warmth inside when outside is bitter.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Jolly songs played on the radio,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 you know you\u2019ve heard time and time again.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Snow always surprises,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Inches of its soft and thick blanket,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 cover all that stands.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Excitement,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 For you and all else know of the break from work,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 To meet those you love.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 To see them together.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Dancing,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Munching,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Being covered in snow,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Deer roam the snow,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 White rabbits frolic in the chill<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Few brave birds stay in the winter chill.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Chill,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Children are free of school,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The magic of seeing your raspy breath\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Bright lights,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The lights of winter line homes.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Scare the raccoons hungry for your garbage.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Or whatever living lies within.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

The joy of shaking a raspy tree branch,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Causing an avalanche of snow to fall<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Very few times is it possible to make men,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Of snow.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Very few times is it possible to slide,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0In sleds.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Very few times does the ground turn white<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 And be so soft but so harsh.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Clear upside-down cones,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Hang from whatever hangable.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Never are there more festive holidays than there are now.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 There is no greater comfort than knowing the infinite blanket of snow will shield\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 you from what\u2019s above.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Because when you see your loved ones standing there,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Smiling,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Under the vast infinite flurry,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 You know everything,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Everything’s going to be okay. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
