{"id":6629,"date":"2021-08-04T15:00:05","date_gmt":"2021-08-04T19:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/seeds.ca\/schoolfoodgardens\/?p=6629"},"modified":"2023-01-04T13:02:45","modified_gmt":"2023-01-04T18:02:45","slug":"demands-from-our-lands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/seeds.ca\/schoolfoodgardens\/demands-from-our-lands\/","title":{"rendered":"Demands From Our Lands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Written by: Zinnia Gill<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A child born from sacred dirt is now born from plastic,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It may seem exaggerated, but really, it\u2019s drastic.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The birds that once flew in the breeze from oak to oak,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">now struggle to reach their nests through the smoke.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The fish that swam between corals which were unspoiled,<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">now struggle to live as they splash around in oil.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019ve begun to hate our planet more than we believe,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trees are cut down and sunlight becomes a pet peeve.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, when everything is gone, there won\u2019t be any time to grieve.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So take some time and work for our Earth,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By mending our ways we can offer our planet rebirth.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Because when that fatal day will arrive,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nothing will have a chance to thrive.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Love our Earth and care for these lands,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For once, put down your own demands.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211; Zinnia S.
