Take a short drive north from Waterloo, and you\u2019ll find St. Jacobs Farmers\u2019 Market, a farmers market that combines fresh produce, artisanal goods, and Mennonite culture into one vibrant destination. With attracting nearly 1 million tourists every year, St. Jacobs Farmers\u2019 Market stands as the largest year\u2011round farmers&#8217; market in Canada!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>A Bite Into Its History:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1952: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Stockyard Farmers&#8217; Market began in Kitchener.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1975: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Kitchener and Waterloo stockyards merged, establishing the market in its current location on Mennonite land.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1987: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The two-level Farmers&#8217; Market Building was constructed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1991: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The market was renamed St. Jacobs Farmers&#8217; Market &amp; Flea Market, and a Tuesday market was added.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2013: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On September 2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">nd<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a fire destroyed the main two-level market building.
