Also, since the foods in season come in such a large amount &#8211; they can often be cheaper than produce out of season! Eating seasonally means eating locally, which is SO much better for the environment. Eating seasonally lowers the transportation needed and therefore lowers your carbon footprint.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Along with lowering your carbon footprint, if you aren\u2019t buying produce from overseas you are also lessening your risk of getting contaminants in your food.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some agriculture overseas may not be regulated and can be filled with liquid contaminants such as methyl bromide, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and soil contaminants such as heavy metals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By purchasing your produce locally it supports your local farmers and maintains farmland. Purchasing locally also allows you to know more about your food and how it was grown (avoiding those yucky contaminates).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>What Foods Are In Season?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now that we know <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">why <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">eating seasonally is so important. What foods are in season for October?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the fruit lovers, there are some awesome fruits ready for harvest!
