It's hard to believe that Seeds of Diversity members have been saving seeds and plants together for 40 years, but when we look back at all the things we've done it's hard to believe we fit it all into just 40!
Celebrate with us at our Annual Members Meeting, when we'll go back in time to remember all the seeds, plants, people, and programs we've been able to bring together over the years.
Do you remember the Heritage Seed Program? Do you remember CaTSuP - the Canadian Tomato Survival Project? If you do, be sure to send us your seed stories below!
Our Annual Members Meeting is coming up soon, and this year we're celebrating 40 years of Seeds of Diversity. Join other members for a trip down memory lane about our programs past and present, and ideas for the next 40 years!
3:00pm Eastern time : Forty Years of Seeds of Diversity!

Do you love what Seeds of Diversity does and want to help make it even better? We're looking for people with skills and experience who can help strategize our work for the future. Meetings are monthly and virtual, typically no more than an hour. We're especially looking for people who have connections with the wider seed-saving community, experience in administration or governance of non-profit organizations, and availability for a one-hour virtual meeting each month.
If that sounds like you, send us an email expressing your interest and let us know
Seeds of Diversity is 40 years old this year, and it's time to celebrate! During the next few months, we're going to tell our stories of seeds, plants, and people who have made a lasting difference for food diversity and food security in Canada.
If you have recollections about a favourite plant, a community experience, or something that inspired you as a gardener or seed saver, we'd like to help you tell your story to other Seeds of Diversity members.
Seeds of Diversity's 40-year story is really your story, so let's tell it!
Some of our members want to get serious about fruit conservation. Apples, pears, berries - fruit that grows well in Canada and varieties that are difficult to find, or need to be better promoted.
Would you like to meet other fruit enthusiasts? Get involved in perennial fruit conservation? If there's enough interest in a Canadian network of fruit growers and propagators, we can support one and connect you into it!
Let us know what interests you about this idea, and we'll get started this winter.
An annual membership to Seeds of Diversity gives you access to our seed exchange, seed grow-out programs, and our online news.
Thank you for your support!
